The North course is a great sister course to the renowned El Rompido Golf Club – South. Winding through the protected salt marsh area the course is a superbly designed test of golf. With a varied range of hole styles the course has a test in store for players of all standards. The front nine features a run of holes with very tight drives – a typical “risk and reward” opening 9; while the back 9 is shorter, but demands greater accuracy from the fairway into small target greens which are of a consistently high standard.
|36 holes on 2 courses on North and South combined (18 holes on each)|

South The original El Rompido South Course is a challenging and beautiful course and with the recent addition of the fabulous El Rompido North Course the reputation of this superb facility can only grow.
This South Course hosted the 2004 & 2005 final of the national Daily Mail Foursomes, and is hotly tipped to host many more national and international tournaments in coming years.
It sprawls across an intriguing mix of parkland and marshland and offers some amazing views – the walk from the 8th green to the 9th tee takes you across a 650ft pontoon right across the protected marshland where you can see freshwater crabs and an abundance of bird life.

Bellavista (Dehesa Golf)
15 minutes drive from Sunflowers.
Few visitors to Southern Spain realise that this area was first visited and colonised by the British well over 100 years ago. Attracted by the mineral resources at the Rio Tinto mines north of Huelva many Britons came to find wealth and a new life. With them they brought their two main sporting passions – golf and football. From the sporting interests and enthusiasm of these British pioneers the oldest golf club in Spain, Bellavista (1916), and the oldest football club, Huelva FC were established.
The result of this early development at Bellavista Golf Club is a course and club that is more traditional than the usual Spanish offering.
This is true members club in the British style. More undulating than many in the coastal area, the course is a challenge for most golfers that belies it’s par is just 70. With a number of long par 5’s and also some lengthy par 4’s, just to reach the fantastically manicured greens in regulation will be an achievement for many. Members only at weekends.
Just to say that you have played at the oldest course in a country which has become the biggest golf destination in Europe should be enough for most true golfers.

Isla Canela golf course has been carefully integrated with surrounding coastal features; winding through an area of tidal salt marsh, you will find the course not only an enjoyable golfing challenge, but also a fascinating nature walk!
The course is largely flat, so will provide a leisurely walk for those who prefer not to slog up and down dale, yet also provides the longest piece of golf terrain in the area.
With beautifully manicured fairways and greens, and an obelisk(!) ready to deflect a perfectly straight drive on the 15th fairway you will be assured a fantastic day at Isla Canela Golf Club.

Opened in March 2007, Costa Esuri West is a superb riverside parkland course but with a real links golf feel. The prevailing wind off the Guadiana River brings added challenge to the layout but the fairways are wide and fair.
With a long term ambition to host tour events, the course is long and challenging but without being a slog. The Costa Esuri Golf Club – East course provides a more benign ‘holiday golf’ experience however for those without ambitions of making the pro circuit!
Don’t be put off by the fact that the Costa Esuri courses are situated in a large residential development. The housing only borders the west course down one side and does not cut in to any of the fairways. This gives a round at Costa Esuri West a real wide open feel and demonstrates the designer’s (Aymerich Golf) understanding of what is required to merge a great golf course with much needed infrastructure.
During your round at Costa Esuri Golf Club, you will spend most of your time looking out to the magnificent River Guadiana which forms the border between Spain and Portugal. Those with eagle eyes will spot the new Seve Ballesteros course at Quinta do Vale over the water in Portugal. This is also well worth a play.
When you finish your round at Costa Esuri Golf Club, you can relax and unwind in the clubhouse which has a large bar area and a sun terrace overlooking the river and substantial practice area. The food is excellent in the clubhouse, especially the breakfast, so arrive early if you are playing in the morning!

Costa Esuri Golf Club is part of Costa Esuri Golf Resort, and is located near Ayamonte, in the heart of the Spanish Algarve. Two 18-hole courses, with a magnificent hotel resort to follow, make Costa Esuri the best choice for your golf in Costa de la Luz and in the Eastern Algarve. The lack of houses on the course and its privileged location on the bank of the Guadiana River, the fantastic views over to Portugal and the mouth of the river and all the comforts of the resort itself , make this club a golfers paradise.
The East course (opened in February 2008) is fairly long at over 6,900 yards and is very well integrated on the slope down towards the salt marshes of the Guadiana River, with views to the sea and the town of Ayamonte. It is a more technical course than the older West track.

Dunas de Donana
90 minutes drive from Sunflowers.
Dunas de Donana Golf Club is located at the southern end of one of the most important national parks in Europe, El Coto de Donana, and close to the Atlantic Ocean. This location provides a real golfing gem with challenging holes well protected in many cases with water and bunkering.
Although the drive to this course is a little further than usual we are sure those who do take our advice and head down to this beautiful course will find the experience very worthwhile.
The course itself is a challenge of the golfers control and accuracy with some tight fairways and a considerable amount of water on some of the holes ready to swallow up your proV1’s! When the wind blows in off the Atlantic, what looks like a gentle stroll in fair weather can become a real battle of attrition for even the most skilled of golfers!
The club house and other golf facilities at Dunas de Donana along with the town of Matalascanas make this venue worth every minute of the drive from the central part of the region.

Real Club de Golf de Sevilla
The Real Club de Golf of Seville boasts one of Europe’s best courses. Designed by José María Olazábal, this challenging course of wide fairways and numerous bunkers is held in high esteem by amateurs and professionals alike.
This fantastic golf course, rated the 3rd best in all of Spain, was designed by José María Olazábal (Integral Golf Design), and was the host course of the 2004 World Cup of Golf. The course is a par 72 and measures 6,529 metres. Its highly balanced design makes it an excellent venue for any high-level competition, be it amateur or professional.
The course covers an area of 61 Ha. and boasts over 10,000 trees belonging to many different species, most of them native.
Spectacular bunkers and four lakes covering more than three hectares make it a pleasant and challenging course. The strategically placed lakes surround many holes on the course, lowering the temperature and adding to the course’s charm.
There is also a 120-metre wide, 260-metre long driving range sown with Bermuda 419 – as are the fairways. Next to the practice ground are the large putting and chipping greens, with gradients similar to those found on the course’s greens.
Zaudin Golf Club, Seville
Zaudín Club Golf was opened in 1992, and is one of the best golf clubs in Seville. Zaudin Golf Club was designed by a legend of golf, Gary Player, and is the only example of a Player-designed golf course in Spain.
The course winds through stands of ancient olive trees and orange groves and offers a challenge to golfers of all abilities. With wide forgiving fairways leading to well-bunkered greens with a number of different lakes and water features the course offers chances for good scoring, but also encourages accuracy into the superb greens.
Zaudín Club Golf is a traditional Spanish members club, but also allows visitors to play the superb course and make use of the excellent practice facilities and the other sports facilities on offer such as tennis and swimming.
A word of warning – don’t be put off by the journey to Zaudin Golf Club through industrial and commercial sites just outside the Seville ring road – once through the gates of the club you are in an oasis of calm and tranquility which makes you forget that you are so close to one of Spain’s major cities!

The course is short by modern standards at 6,300 yards, but the tight undulating fairways make this another course where accuracy is more important than length.
